Question: How to mount un-based action figures?
Hi.
I have an action figure collection of film and game figures (yes im sad ).
However some of the figures do not come with bases, and i keep them in a glass cabinet on show, so i would like them all standing up.
I have tried spray painting beer mats black and blue tacking the figures too them, but the beer mats warp and bend (due to the paint) and the blue tac is not the greatest adhesive.
I spray the beer mats black as i dont want the real design showing through, as it looks stupid.
I have recently tried acquiring some thin black plastic and used super glue and some other adhesive which you have to mix together and that still is not good.
Has anyone got any ideas, or is there anywhere you can buy bases for different models, i know its a long shot but hey.
Answer: Do not use glue. That will damage the figure.
Use a bracket instead. Something that comes up behind the figure and holds it upright, even if the figure just leans slightly against a vertical post.
Painting the stand black will reduce its visible impact, keping the focus on your display.
